(Press Release) A Transformative Exhibition by At-Risk Youth at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MONTREAL, QC (23 January 2019). LOVE (Québec) invites you to Transformation, an exhibition showcasing photographs and texts produced by at-risk youth at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts from February 5 to March 31, 2019.

For the fifth year, LOVE’s program participants from schools and communities across the Greater Montreal area will present their artwork at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Visitors will witness the realities of those young artists and how they use self-expression to grow and surmount the difficulties in their lives.

For 25 years, LOVE has been passionately committed to changing the lives of thousands of youth affected by violence all over Canada. The non-profit organization provides media-arts training, social and emotional learning, and leadership development opportunities to youth in safe settings, giving them opportunities to find their voice. LOVE’s participants emerge from its programs with greater resilience, skills, and support to overcome challenges, and develop into strong, independent leaders ready to engage more fully in the world around them.

To launch the exhibit, an opening reception will take place at the Museum on February 5 starting at 5:30 pm. Come and meet the artists and learn more about the organization.

ABOUT LOVE (QUÉBEC): LOVE (Québec) is a Montreal-based non-profit organization that, since 1993, has empowered at-risk youth to thrive, radically changing the trajectory of their lives through innovative education that gives them the emotional intelligence to overcome the challenges they face. Our programs are essential and successful, creating inspirational community leaders and giving them a voice to prove that love is greater than anything.

Starting as a humble photojournalism project, running out of the basement of Dawson College, LOVE has since blossomed into a well-established program serving over 500 youth in 25 schools across Greater Montreal, with sister programs running in Toronto, Halifax, and Vancouver.
